From the little I've seen of the Alabama they would beat ND by about 3 touchdowns.
Yeah, 1, 2, and 4 all in close games right now. 3 needed double OT to survive. Pretty cool. Any other night I would have given up after the afternoon gut punch.
Triple OT. But I agree. not only are the games close. They're interesting, well played, and really fun to watch. I'm bouncing between each game and loving all of them.
My Oregon feed is really choppy, which sucks because I would love to follow that one too. But right now I am totally loving LSU all of a sudden being able to throw the ball. The K-St. game has been super exciting. OK St. looks a lot better than they did at the beginning of the year. Bedlam is going to be a crazy game again.
the eagles have 4 games against teams coming off bye weeks, and so far, they're 0-3. they lost to pittsburgh, detroit, and atlanta, so those are good teams that they may have lost to anyway, but still, to have to play 4 such games is really not good. the last one is against washington in a few weeks.
and then in the next 7 weeks, they have 2 monday night games, a sunday night game, and a thursday night game, including a stretch where they play 4 games in 18 days -- MON-SUN-SUN-THU.
And Bama probably just won the game.
There was a huge 50/50 call on an onside kick in the Oregon game. Went against USC, and that's probably game. Up 10 with 5 minutes left, and now they have the ball.
I wonder if it's a speed thing; get the ball to the back faster that way.
Imagine if Miles hadn't given them the opportunity to score before the half. His decisions on 4th down have really cost his team so far.
AND ALABAMA IS LOSING! NFL! NFL! NFL!
also, any top 5 team beating anyone else at home shouldn't be a huge surprise.
Is this a serious comment?
In fairness to steagles, KC has spent 0 seconds all season with the lead.
Well, that's a big part of it. He can't just run it up the guy twice in a row, especially with the way the passing game is clicking right now. If that's his call, he might as well kick it.
Doesn't matter though, the defense is a rock right now.
OOOH MY!
Whoa, what are you doing watching college football?
The LSU offense is crazy consistent right now. Run, run, 3rd and 6 pass, first down. And a false start takes away a fumble.
Heh, no soccer? I thought there was always soccer.
I do not understand why this happens. Especially after the regular defense was killing Alabama.
Glad the refs didn't force a call there. Can Bama kick it from here?
That was a truly horrible series for LSU. Where did the defense go?
and if there's any god (which, considering the outcome of the notre dame game earlier tonight, i feel is quite certain) LSU deserves to lose this game in the worst way imaginable.
TD alabama.
such self-debasement is even POSSIBLE?
No kidding.
Won the turnover battle AND outgained Bama by 100 yards. Miles took so many points off the board tonight. Gambled at the wrong times, went conservative at the wrong time. Give him credit for building a team that could out play Bama, but holy ####, what he called such an awful game tonight.
ON 4TH AND 12! With Bama clearly not coming after the kick and playing for the fake.
I don't think Bama could have done that all game. LSU's defense was clearly in ultra-prevent mode. Even the announcers were commenting on how much space LSU's d-backs were giving Bama's receivers. Give some credit to the Bama offense, for executing and the screen was a great play call, but LSU didn't make them earn it for most of the drive.
darren rovell ?from espn.com got these headlines from Twitter followers:
CHEAUXKE
OH NEAUX, TIGERS!
LES ISN’T MORE
REAUX TIDE REAUX
Yeah, the announcers said it, but Lundquist and Danielson also have no ####### idea what they're talking about. I just re-watched the drive.
Play 1: A good throw in between a couple of defenders, turn and ran up field.
Play 2: Defender was playing tight, but it looked to be something along the lines of linebacker vs. tight end and the Alabama player made a nice catch.
Play 3: Looked like the WR ran off the DB and then settles for a 10 yard curl. It was the best, and really only, example of prevent defense.
Play 4: Deep ball, coverage was good.
Play 5: Screen pass for a touchdown on a blitz.
Sometimes teams play prevent defenses and it costs them games. Sometimes teams just play better offense in the last couple of minutes, or something random happens, and people blame it on the "prevent defense" thing.
if that was addressed to me, i'll just clarify that i am not one of those people. i'm just an agnostic poking fun at the idea of notre dame being god's team, which is kind of hard to doubt after the way that game ended.
There was soccer Saturday night, just not soccer many will watch. (MLS playoffs, incl. the "NY" team.)
I am envious! Death Valley is one of the few SEC stadiums I haven't been to.
Is the reason the SEC keeps winning national titles that they're the only conference that still has defensive units?
