I hope Golson isn't hurt.
Yes sir. No question about it.
I don't think they're tanking. I just think they're not playing 100%. I think they'd be doing that regardless - there's not much separating Oregon and Stanford, and if anything I actually think UCLA matches up better with Oregon.
Don't overlook stupid. He could be stupid.
I am happier about this than I should be. Miss St. being ranked for most of the season has really bothered me (because I am a weirdo, I suppose) and I'm happy they won't finish the season that way.
The refs are KILLING Clemson right now. Two completely bogus PI calls on this drive.
Edit: Pick in the end zone for Clemson! What a play. This game is awesome.
Or Baylor is, having close losses against Oklahoma, Texas and West Virginia with Oklahoma State still to play. Ole Miss has an impressive tough loss resume, but Baylor's actually beaten someone ranked.
My point is that after beating Kansas State by 28, people who aren't serious college football fans have seen and/or think they're pretty solid this year. Baylor is better than Ole Miss, but Baylor is "somebody" now. Arizona State is another team that people probably didn't/don't realize is a pretty good team.
QFT. I thought about writing a long dissection of their schedule, but this just says it better than I could ever hope to.
Nonsense, he'll be an ESPN "analyst" for 15 years at least.
1. I don't think a punt has ever been kicked that hasn't taken a bounce or roll for one of the teams.
2. 90% of bounces take a kicking team bounce.
After the game they were locked inside a 2X4 equipment shed for six hours.
That's ridiculous. Being a bust is a career to speak of, just on the other end of the spectrum.
Wrong school.
Fair (as is the analyst role at ESPN.) Tonight is the highlight of his playing career...
I bet it is because they beat Stanford before they switched QBs. I also bet Shaw wishes he switched sooner than he did.
No, Leach locked the losers from WU in. He just likes abusing kids *that much.*
Well played.
I think you're right. It just shows how far the top of the conference has to go to be nationally elite. And for some reason we will get to see both of them in the preseason top 10 next year.
I think they are playing a bit conservative in the red zone tonight because they know USC isn't going to be able to put up points. They have 379 yards to USC's 152 so far. They've been pretty dominating tonight.
Edit: That said, of course they will have trouble moving the ball against those two defenses. They aren't an elite offense.
Not a very good strategy for a dominant team. Playing so conservatively actually leaves a lot up to chance. One big play and the game is up in the air again.
That's a horrible reason to play conservative, and a great reason to be aggressive.
note to self: make it to a So Car v Clemson game some time.
I don't disagree, especially right now as USC looks like they are about to close it up. They've kicked field goals on 4th and 6 twice, 4th and 4, and 4th and 2. I have to think they go for at least one of those, probably two, under different circumstances. Maybe the pressure is getting to Kelly.
Edit: Looking at ND's offensive numbers, it's kind of inexcusable that they only have 19 points. 5.1 yards a rush, 8.3 yards a pass, and one TD?
I agree, Suh was better, but that isn't a valid reason to not vote for him if you think he's the best player in the country. It's a weak year.
FIFY
seriously, why is he still working? What is his motivation? What in heck is ESPN/ABC's?
Champ Bailey was great but that's going back a ways. To hold that against a player is completely unfair.
A UGA/ND title game would give me migraines.
Alabama had that schedule this year too. Who would have thought that replacing a trip to Vandy with a trip to Missouri would have been a downgrade...
I will be surprised if Missouri is this bad again next year. They are a better program than that. Of course, I have no idea who replaces Franklin, or what else they lose, so I may be totally off base.
I know one. The Sugar Bowl team that slaughtered Hawaii. What are the other two?
Totally right. I thought he was a senior. He was a lot better his sophomore year. He will be better next year or there will be a different QB. Green-Beckham looks like a heck of a ballplayer too. And I respect Pinkel as a coach, he's good at what he does.
Coming into this weekend
Hawaii 1-9 #169 Sagarin (playing UNLV)
Syracuse 6-5 #53 (beat Temple)
California 3-9 #70
Utah 4-7 #45 (beat Colorado)
Washington 7-4 #25 (lost WSU)
Colorado 1-10 #151 (lost UTAH)
Arizona State 6-5 #28 (beat Az)
Edit: Oh, false start, Kiffin's crappiness as a coach continues to rear it's head.
2002 UGA, lost to guess who during their 'can't beat UF' period.
1982, tough loss in MNC game in Sugar Bowl to PSU.
Because they're Notre Dame and they haven't lost yet.
Exactly.
This team is not a #1 caliber team.
Might?
Bama vs ND?
UG vs ND?
1982, tough loss in MNC game in Sugar Bowl to PSU.
Cool, thanks for the history lesson!
These guys should be able to take some time out from their slobbering on Domer knob to criticize Kiffin.
Then you need to consider lithium.
Honestly an Alabama-Notre Dame game will be the most watched and least watched BCS title game of all-time.
Hot wife, great job, I thought there was probably some intelligence buried in there somewhere. I am beginning to wonder if he's just Forrest Gump with a famous football coach father now.
Go irish
"This bullship system is over this year."
If Alabama wins the SEC Championship, they should play UF for the BCS Championship. If UGA beats Bama, they should play Oregon.
