Alabama Is still Ranked #1. Will they hold steady to repeat? Make it to the title game? Or does another team claim the Crystal ball in Miami in January.

Not to argue that Ga Tech has a good defense, but I would like to point out that UNC finished 10th in the nation in scoring offense. They weren't bad.

GT's defense was horrific under Al Groh. They were merely bad after Groh was fired.

UGA has committed one real PF - a face mask. They've been called for three. The "late hit out of bound" was something you shouldn't call in co-ed intramural flag football.

On the first play, Murray made a move toward running out of the tackle box (but clearly didn't.) Martinez didn't even make the move.

The "late hit out of bounds" was absolute crap in a big-boy pants football game.

how is it crap? he was more then a yard out of bounds when he made contact with the guy, and didnt do his fake pull up until after the contact. rules are rules you cant just not call them since it's an sec team

The defender was running at full speed to make a play. A yard or two before he was going to make a tackle, another defender rode the runner out of bounds. His momentum carried him one step, at which he barely made contact with the end of the tackle.

That is not a friggin' personal foul. That's football.

In this conversation I've admitted that the first facemask was a penalty, I've admitted that Murray wasn't out of the box and should have been called for grounding, and I haven't said anything about the SEC or other conferences. It's like you're looking for something to ball to momma about. Need a hanky?

and the badgers special teams are very iffy

I think Stanford should control that game start to finish, I think they are that much better then Wisc.

But the biggest x factor to me is Barry back on the sideline

Looks like the NW DB didn't have control of the ball when it bounced back down to hit the ground -- that is, it came up off his hands, off his chest, then back down to the ground.

But it's really hard to tell with the available angles.

today at least. As much as I've been down on Pelini's rush defense schemes (all five seasons, not just this season), it is the play of the secondary that has really been his calling card. Today has been really disappointing.

I think the ref just missed a measurement. He didn't mis-measure, understand. I think he called a first down when the ball was clearly short of the chains.

when you see the replay (do you watch game recaps?), you will laugh your ass off on the measurement/call. I think the spot was short, but the measurement/call was high comedy.

'helmet to helmet' isn't flagged on handoffs or any runs between the tackles, there'd be flags nearly every run.

Harveys in part, the Nebraska pass D was 'good' because the BIG has very few quality passers this season. When T Martinez leads the league in passing eff. for those who qualified, that's a good indicator of the overall weakness in passing in the BIG.
