linebacker
either, depends on who drafts him.
Keep in mind he has 2 offseasons in front of him before the earlier he'd be playing in the NFL. He'll grow in size.
My daughter got confused who we were pulling for, and I explained "an exciting ending".
Taylor Martinez is Junior.
Taylor Martinez is worse than David Ash. I'd probably go crazy if I rooted for a team that had him start 4 years.
Edit: That was Thompson. Still very impressive.
shaw is on the sideline
Nebraska just doesn't know what to do with him. A lot of coaches would have him in Manhattan the past two years at the Heisman banquet.
1-2, where one of the losses was close, all against SEC teams? That's a banner friggin' year for the B1G.
Btw, the clear winner of bowl season so far is the ACC.
Yeah, but they were dogs in all of the games, except the Rutgers game. They beat LSU, USC, a 6-6 team took down a 9 win team. Duke played Cincy closer than they had any business doing. The only true dud game for them was NC State.
IIRC, for the ACC, having a winning bowl record is pretty unusual.
The fact that the #2 team from the ACC was a dog to the #5/#6 team from the SEC isn't something they should be complimented for. They won. So they deserve credit for that. But the reason why they're dogs is because their conference sucks. And I think it's fair to say any team that showed up was going to beat USC yesterday.
We wouldn't have this problem if people didn't have such SEC envy.
After the Lattimore injury, I think you could argue that LSU was the #4/5 team in the SEC.
Big 12 4-3: wins - Bay, Okl St, Texas, TT. losses - ISU, TCU, WVU. still to play - KState, OU.
Big East 2-1: wins - Cincy, Syr. losses - Rutgers. still to play - Lou, Pitt.
C-USA 4-1: wins - Rice, SMU, Tulsa, UCF. losses - ECU. still to play - none.
Sun Belt 1-2: wins - La.-Laf. losses - La.-Monroe, WKU. still to play - Ark State.
Big Ten 2-4: wins - Mich St, N'Wstrn. losses - Mich St, Minn, Neb, Pur. still to play - Wis.
SEC 3-2: wins - Geo, SCar, Vandy. losses - LSU, Miss St. still to play - Ala, Fla, Miss, Texas A&M
Pac-12 2-4: wins - Ariz, ASU. losses - Ore St, UCLA, USC, Wash. still to play - Ore, Stan.
MAC 2-3: wins - CMU, Ohio. losses - Ball St, BGreen, Toledo. still to play - Kent St, NIU.
MWC 1-4: wins - Boise St. losses - Air Force, Fresno St, Nevada, SDSU. still to play - none.
ACC 3-2: wins - Clem, GT, VT. losses - Duke, NC St. still to play - FSU.
Indep 1-1: wins - BYU. losses - Navy. still to play - Notre Dame.
I am in no way suggesting that the ACC is good, just that comparing their performance to expectation, they have had the best bowl season so far. But I think you're undervaluing the win over a top ten LSU squad, who is probably more like 4 in the SEC (beat A&M and USCe, played Florida and Bama very close).
I'm pretty sure that the SEC will have the best bowl season, again, when all is said and done, but the ACC hasn't embarrassed themselves, which is huge for them.
wisconsin special teams are poor for those not aware
again, just a heads up
but they look completely confused
rats
of course if you give it to phillips you are begging for trouble
how do you not give the ball to ball??????????
you have the all time leader in scoring touchdowns and you give it to the smaller back with less power?
really?
really???????
c'mon, that wasn't going anywhere anyway. the whole middle was clogged
a really stupid call
wisky linebackers are awful in coverage. they could have easily gone to a tight end and gotten a completion
good grief.
that is matt canada. he is not beloved by wisconsin fans.
he will run a play and it will need to fail multiple times before he surrenders
it's bizarre
offensive coordinators feel the need for razzle dazzle in bowl games
i think it's combination of the long series of practice, looking for ways to keep the kids engaged in practice, looking to surprise the opposition and coordinators auditioning for their next job
another tight end
why? yardage on offense is even. no turnovers by either team. just a few penalties
Stanford has a lot more talent. I think Wisconsin is having a lot of small things go there way to keep drives going. I also think Stanford is dicking around on offense a little bit.
Wisconsin did play well, and they deserve credit. They are going to have to be able to throw the ball to win the game, even if it's not for a lot of yards, at least to keep drives moving.
what is talent?
at wisconsin they believe talent is someone who will get in the best condition possible, give extreme effort on every play, to be as aggressive as possible within the rules and then execute about a dozen plays to absolute perfection
i know folks find this approach really boring.
but in college ball if you do those things you will beat most teams
you will get exposed when you face teams that do those things and have more athletic ability
i think too many folks think about the athletic ability and not the other stuff
i think stanford played a sloppy second quarter and got cute with its playcalling
Everything you described is how Stanford usually plays. That's the thing - these teams are pretty similar in terms of how they approach football especially from the offensive side of the ball. But Stanford is just a lot better at the things Wisconsin is weak at.
