Why? I think it makes perfect sense. The reality is that Chelsea should have handled QPR easily if Rafa himself had played 90 minutes against QPR and game in hand or no their best shot at a meaningful trophy probably is the FA Cup.
I think you can certainly make a case that with the sizable lead that someone like Cahill or Hazard should have come off (according to the game report Mata came off at 79 minutes) but Torres and Lampard got rests (Lampard's half hour was presumably not overly taxing with a 4-1 lead when he came on).
Edit: I do agree that you take Mata off at 60 minutes.
edit: BTW, Arsenal have never gone out in the 3rd round under Wenger. They'll get the equalizer, I think, the way things are going.

They're likes college basketball team that goes to the sweet sixteen every year but never wins it. They never go out early in the FA Cup and they've made the knockout stage of the CL for a decade now but that's it. They're Gonzaga.

If the question was more general, I'd agree with you that there isn't much between them (though there is some). For example, Bild's demonization of the Greek people has been nothing short of vile.

Also, with the keeper musical chairs that may or may not be taking place between the mega bastard clubs soon, I'm very happy Spurs have locked up Lloris.
It's hard to take UEFA seriously when every time a club's racist fans do something racist they find some reason to charge BOTH clubs. See also England vs Serbia and Man City vs Porto in last year's Europa league.

To be clear, I don't "blame" Suarez - while I think it was intentional, it's also the referees' job to get this right. Nevertheless, I just don't like him.
Possibly. I'm not sure yet how Spurs envision Holtby playing. Dempsey is about to get a good run of games with Adebayor at the ACN. Also, Dempsey can play wide and up top and, by all accounts, that's not something Holtby will be doing.

I think it would mean a bit more rotation of the midfield trio, with Dembele maybe given more of a break here and there. It would almost certainly mean the end of the recent forays with 4-4-2 and a return to the single-striker shape that Spurs were using earlier.
Also, I guess Adebayor *is* going to the ACN now, so that's definitely the end of 4-4-2 for a little while at least.
