OTP 12 March 2018: Trevor Bauer thinks Major League Baseball trying to silence him on Twitter

Last February, Bauer made waves on Twitter when he argued over politics with his followers. He tweeted that almost all of the Indians supported Donald Trump and told another user they were “welcome to quit life.”

Bauer has been much calmer as of late and that could be because MLB stepped in. The 27-year-old hasn’t tweeted that much this offseason and when he does it’s been about things like the Olympics and his training.

Trump is giving a speech on addiction right now. He sounds high as a kite.

It continues to amaze me that he is a teetotaler, because he usually does sound loaded. He talks EXACTLY like my wife's uncle, who is A) often loaded and B) extremely unpleasant & obnoxious and C) ignorant and ill informed. I'll give you one guess who he voted for.

There are currently 18 breweries within the Cincinnati city limits (not counting national brewers like BJ's Brewhouse and Rock Bottom Brewery). In a city population of approximately 300,000. There are another 30 or so in the surrounding suburbs of northern Kentucky and southwest Ohio.

edit: so, that is approximately 400 different IPAs to try in the Cincinnati area...

Trump proposing "a really large scale rollout" of "very, very bad" commercials to dissuade young people from using drugs.

"Some very bad, bad people" in sanctuary cities are selling drugs, but don't use guns. They use knives because it takes longer.

Part Two of the plan is "Eventually Democrats will agree with us and build a wall to keep the damn drugs out."

"The Republicans are totally in favor of doing something very substantial with DACA," but the Democrats want to keep DACA as part of the campaign, but the Republicans are going to win. Democrats are dragging their feet by insisting on tying DACA to the wall, which is wrong, but it's also fine because Trump is completely happy to tie DACA to the wall.

Probably still only 1% of the breweries that were there in the mid-19th century :)

Though one factoid I know about Cincinnati is that it was a major center of American wine-making in the mid-19th century. The Longworth family (later intermarried with the Roosevelts) were one of the wine industry's mainstays there.

We "have to do what we have to do" or "we're not going to have a country left."

Part 3 of the Trump drug plan is providing "lifesaving overdose reversing drugs, which by the way, are amazing." Trump has "watched and seen" these drugs work. "I've seen people that are just about dead wake up."

Its different depending on whether he's reading the prompter or not. When he's reading, he slurs his words. He sounds overmedicated, almost like he's just had a mild stroke. When he's off-script, his enunciation is much sharper and his words come more quickly, but that's when he's more 'politically incorrect' (to put it diplomatically).

Ha! The Over-the-Rhine neighborhood in downtown Cincinnati, had 15 breweries in it around 1900. Over-the-Rhine is about 0.5 sq miles in size. There are, sadly, only 3 local breweries in Over-the-Rhine these days, and, Sam Adams brews out of one of the old brewery buildings also.

My own horror version of that was when I realized that many people own more shoes than books, and think it perfectly normal.

Sexist!

A federal court has rejected Pennsylvania Republicans' attempt to undo the new election map.

An appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court is still pending, but the SC has already denied the PA Republicans a hearing once.

When he's reading he sounds like someone in the early throes of dementia who has tossed back a couple scotch & waters and is about to fall asleep in front of the TV. Off script he sounds like 3 shots of jack and a rail of coke. Or two.

My town will be opening two brewpubs within the next twelve months within a quarter mile of each other. At that point we will have four breweries and a cidery operating in a town of 60,000 people.

Somewhat relatedly, there appears to be something of a bipartisan effort to repeal the 184-year old law barring distilleries on Indian land:
Lawmakers have introduced a bipartisan bill designed to roll back a 184-year-old law that prohibits distilleries on Native American land. The bill was introduced by Reps. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Wash., and Derek Kilmer, D-Wash., on Thursday and has bipartisan support from Reps. Don Young, R-Alaska, Denny Heck, D-Wash., and Tom Cole, R-Okla.

Native American booze should have a considerable price advantage over the heavily-taxed stuff that dominates the current market. The liquor industry and the states with the highest liquor taxes may have something to say about this legislation.

If you do those things, you may be artificially popular.

Artificial sweeteners are still sweet.

Artificially popular is still popular.

You completely confuse what to do about people already here with what to do about future immigration policy. The two have nothing to do with each other.

They have everything to do with the views of people who don't want anyone new in this country, ever, especially if they have brown skin, and want to remove/bar them all.

No doubt starring the big DT himself.
"This is your country:" (Obama)
"This is your country on drugs:" (Trump)
"Any questions?

(And yes, I am aware that Donald doesn't drink... not sure about other drugs)
