Paul Goldschmidt has fractured left hand, goes on DL

PHOENIX (AP) — The Diamondbacks’ dismal season got worse Saturday with the news that All-Star first baseman Paul Goldschmidt has a fractured left hand.

Goldschmidt, who finished as the runner-up in the National League MVP voting last season, was hurt when he was hit by a pitch from Ernesto Frieri in the ninth inning of Friday night’s 9-4 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Diamondbacks have placed Goldschmidt on the 15-day disabled list, and there was no word on how long he is expected to be sidelined.

Well, time to play for that number 1 pick.  %$#& !!!

You know what the D-Backs should do now. Hit Andrew McCutchen. Because that is just logical and addresses the problem of losing Goldschmidt so well.

D-Backs are the ultimate Heel org.

D-Backs are the ultimate Heel org.

I'm not sure they have the self-awareness to be true Heels. Rather, they seem to see themselves not as bad guys, but as the team that Plays the Game the Right Way.

Which makes them just a bunch of ########.

That sound is the sound of a million fantasy owners screaming out in anguish.

So the D-Backs are Bo Dallas?

They may Play the Game the Right Way, but they still suck ass.

I'd like to give Goldschmidt some props for being reasonable about the incident, in spite of his injury:

"Guys get hit," he said. "It's part of the game. I think he's probably trying to make a pitch and missed his spot a little bit and it ends up getting in, so it's just part of it."

He's a lot classier than Gibson.
