The Indians acquired Slowey and a reported $1.25 million from the Rockies for right-hander Zach Putnam.

Well, now they've got some Carmona insurance. Kind of a narrow escape for Slowey - he would've gotten killed at altitude, with his skill set.

Turpen throws hard, but he isn't really a pitcher at this point, and I think the Rockies effectively traded up by cashing him in for Putnam.

As a Tiger fan, I think this almost makes up for the loss of V-Mart.

Please, Cleveland - put him in the rotation immediately!

At least they know Slowey's his real name. Short of Kevin Hangingcurvy*, it's hard to think of a worse name for a pitcher.
