Whoa, how about that, shitting on The Big Bang Theory. That's the end of him doing PBP on TBS.

Do the Reds have two bullpen catchers? Who's that slob in massive leg guards standing behind Sean Marshall as Marshall throws warmup pitches?

Watching with no sound, tell me it was Darling.

And Little Egypt is still around! Part of one of the Yankee teams I liked better than this version, despite their many failings!

Was this Latos' normal throw day? Do they now go with him in game 4 and use Bailey in a game 5?

Edit - Assuming Cueto can go in game 3
   206. cardsfanboy Posted: October 06, 2012 at 11:53 PM (#4257493)
Mmm.... Microwave popcorn and baseball. I make sure to put my nose above the bag and open it so that I can inhale as much of the hot smell as possible, after all, there is nothing potentially wrong with inhaling hot chemical smoke.
   207. RB in NYC (Now Semi-Retired from BBTF) Posted: October 06, 2012 at 11:53 PM (#4257494)
Not that he doesn't deserve credit, but calling Latos "part of that Reds bullpen" is pretty silly.
   208. fra paolo Posted: October 06, 2012 at 11:53 PM (#4257495)
My rooting interests:

=1st Nationals & Tigers. I'm not going to choose until I'm forced to.
3rd Reds

After that, I dunno. I'll probably work it out as the playoffs develop.
   209. cardsfanboy Posted: October 06, 2012 at 11:59 PM (#4257500)
Luddy with a couple of fine defensive plays(although I think the second one was as much a mistake on his part as it was a good play)

Giants doing all they can to keep you out of the Bingo drawing

Giants continuing to keep their tradition of roid users making playoff appearances alive with Mota
   212. PreservedFish Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:04 AM (#4257506)
I believe that Guillermo Mota is my least favorite baseball player.

Yep, and my other two cards are all blocked by Cueto and Cain spots. :(
   214. cardsfanboy Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:12 AM (#4257511)
My Cardinal friends aren't happy with me cheering for Phillips. Great play by him again.
   215. smileyy Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:13 AM (#4257512)
I guess I'm one of those people who needs to get out of my own basement but until tonight, I didn't know how to correctly pronounce Marco Scutaro and Paul Janish's names.
   216. cardsfanboy Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:14 AM (#4257513)
Really? Albert Belle reference? Why would you want to run through the second baseman on that play, you stop and make the guy chase you, to hopefully get the batter to first base.

Yankees

Good thinking, save Chapman for the 9th.....
   220. cardsfanboy Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:29 AM (#4257524)
In some respects this thread is making me wish for a Yankee / Cardinal series..... Cardinals are the only team that has faced the Yankees more then once in the post season with a winning record. (actually that should be world series...not sure about post season)

Well it is Dusty
   222. smileyy Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:30 AM (#4257526)
That's a helluva location for that pitch.

Come on, plane crash.

Based on this thread, BTF would be a quiet place in such a scenario.
   224. Hey - you and Tommy Lasorda...I hate Tommy Lasorda Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:31 AM (#4257528)
That is the first time all night he has called the low strike. It is hard to be objective when my team is down, but the zone has been maddeningly inconsistent.
   225. smileyy Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:33 AM (#4257529)
I'm a Reds fan, and I was worried because I figured the bases were loaded now. Didn't think that was a strike, from my fan's eye.
   226. hokieneer Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:33 AM (#4257530)
Broxton scares the #### out of me. After all of that he throws a near perfect pitch.
   227. Hey - you and Tommy Lasorda...I hate Tommy Lasorda Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:36 AM (#4257533)
Pinch runner? Hannigan runs pretty good for a catcher, but still
   228. Mayor Blomberg Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:39 AM (#4257535)
Depends on how you define record, cfb; the NYY are 15-13 in the WS against STL.
   229. cardsfanboy Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:40 AM (#4257537)
I define it as series's won. :)
   230. cardsfanboy Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:41 AM (#4257538)
dangit, my flash player crashed, and now for some reason I can't get mlbtv.com saying I'm blacked out. Rebooted the computer and it didn't work.
   231. hokieneer Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:46 AM (#4257539)
Big hit by Phillips
   232. Hey - you and Tommy Lasorda...I hate Tommy Lasorda Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:48 AM (#4257540)
This is just sad
   233. Mayor Blomberg Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:48 AM (#4257541)
I had no doubt. ;)
   234. Mayor Blomberg Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:56 AM (#4257546)
looks like it was very wise not to bring him in during the 8th! Not so good so far for the 9th, either.
   235. hokieneer Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:57 AM (#4257547)
Dear god, it can never be easy.
   236. smileyy Posted: October 07, 2012 at 12:59 AM (#4257550)
The last time I watched Chapman pitch was Game 2 against the Phillies in 2010. I'm sure he's very good and all, but...
   237. Los Angeles El Hombre of Anaheim Posted: October 07, 2012 at 01:01 AM (#4257552)
This could get interesting fast...

he's the typical Jeckyll and Hyde pitcher. Some days he's just not on, this year he has been on most of the time.
   239. Mayor Blomberg Posted: October 07, 2012 at 01:04 AM (#4257555)
OK, so now they can walk Buster :)
   240. Los Angeles El Hombre of Anaheim Posted: October 07, 2012 at 01:05 AM (#4257556)
You'd have to, wouldn't you?
   241. smileyy Posted: October 07, 2012 at 01:05 AM (#4257557)
See, that last pitch is what I'm expecting out of Chapman.
   242. cardsfanboy Posted: October 07, 2012 at 01:06 AM (#4257558)
Couldn't allow one more run?
   243. Hey - you and Tommy Lasorda...I hate Tommy Lasorda Posted: October 07, 2012 at 01:06 AM (#4257559)
Bingo
   244. hokieneer Posted: October 07, 2012 at 01:06 AM (#4257560)
Finally. Its been a long long time.
   245. Los Angeles El Hombre of Anaheim Posted: October 07, 2012 at 01:06 AM (#4257561)
Apparently not if you throw like that.
   246. PreservedFish Posted: October 07, 2012 at 01:08 AM (#4257562)
You'd have to, wouldn't you?

Well, it's easy to say now, but I don't see why. Posey isn't an extreme homerun threat (especially compared to Pence), and I'd much much much rather have the tying run at the plate than on base.
   247. smileyy Posted: October 07, 2012 at 01:17 AM (#4257563)
I can't imagine ever deliberately putting the go-ahead run at the plate.
   248. PeteF3 Posted: October 07, 2012 at 01:52 AM (#4257566)
I define it as series's won. :)

In that case, the Indians and Angels are both 2-1 in series against the Yankees, and the Tigers are 2-0.
   249. salajander Posted: October 07, 2012 at 01:35 PM (#4257844)
Much as I hate the Cards, I'm hoping for Yanks/Cards in the series just to hear all the whiny bellyaching.

Is commenting broken or has there really been no comments in 35 minutes?

I associate Matt Vasgergian with the MLB 'xx: The Show video games.

Oh, I'm in the wrong chatter. Hilarious.
