Guaranteed that it would have been a nice play if Jeter had made it.
This A's team is just crazy. They play in the Mariner's division. I live in San Francisco. They are in their first game of the playoffs. And I still can't believe it. Who the heck is Josh Donaldson? Or Derek Norris? When did Brandon Moss switch bodies with Albert Pujols?
Their game 1 starting pitcher is Jarrod Parker...
Also: Coco Crisp? Eh, probably doesn't make the list of the 10 most unlikely events for the A's this year unless he hits at least one more.
Arguably the fourth-most valuable piece (at the time) that the Cubs traded for Rich Harden and Chad Gaudin four years ago.
I wondered about that too, but I figured it was just my raging hatred of Buck Martinez making me too sensitive.
Eric Patterson, Sean Gallgher...no idea who the other one was.
B-R says Matt Murton, which I also did not remember.
Thank goodness for the Gameday Scout; I don't know what I'd do without it.
In the infield, at least.
Be interesting to see how long they go with Verlander.
That's more or less why I haven't created it yet. I really don't want to be responsible for creating a scene out of Caligula.
Martinez: That's why Leyland is such a veteran manager.
I refuse to believe I heard that uttered....just, wow
I recall a manager saying this as well once. Perhaps it was Dusty.
Some people find CF easier than RF or LF, because there aren't as many tricky angles. This was said about Mike Cameron. And in that situation, LF would be harder than RF because LF probably gets more fly balls.
Major league right fielders had over 500 more putouts than left fielders this year.
Given he had 9 120+ pitch games this year, I expect to see him out there for the 7th.
How old is Delmon Young? He looks like Dave Parker when Dave Parker was an 18-year veteran. Wasn't he skinny a couple years ago, when he was on the Twins?
He looks like ####.
Hey! Joaquin Benoit has a beard shaped like a lowercase omega. Delmon Young should do that.
About that...
I worked a charity golf tournament a couple months ago and got the plum assignment of driving around the beverage cart with one of my buddies. Between Miller 64 and Coors Light, I chose the Miller 64. I took my first swig sitting off a tee box while a guy was in his backswing and started coughing/choking. Buddy amused, golfer not quite as much.
I'm not attesting anything like that. This bullpen never ceases to make me nervous.
See what I mean.
