Playoffs Day One Omni Chatter

Of course Buck Martinez selects a slow chopper into the hole at short on which a DP could not be turned as evidence of the problem of infield range for the Tigers.

Guaranteed that it would have been a nice play if Jeter had made it.

Yeah, almost an hour into the game and it's only heading into the bottom of the 3rd. And that was with the Tigers going quickly in the 2nd.

The Tigers are shaky in the can't get to stuff way, the A's are shaky in the can't catch the ball way.

Little know fact: most catchers are failed left fielders. Most shortstops dream of playing left field bu aren't allowed to, because, come on.

Wasn't the excuse used last year that Hamilton played left field for Texas when Gentry was in the lineup because Gentry didn't have much experience in left?

Is it supposed to be obvious that CF is the hardest outfield position? That's not true for everybody.

Some people find CF easier than RF or LF, because there aren't as many tricky angles. This was said about Mike Cameron. And in that situation, LF would be harder than RF because LF probably gets more fly balls.

I thought the general rule was that center fielders could run and throw, left fielders could run but not throw and right fielders can throw but not run.

How old is Delmon Young? He looks like Dave Parker when Dave Parker was an 18-year veteran. Wasn't he skinny a couple years ago, when he was on the Twins?

I worked a charity golf tournament a couple months ago and got the plum assignment of driving around the beverage cart with one of my buddies. Between Miller 64 and Coors Light, I chose the Miller 64. I took my first swig sitting off a tee box while a guy was in his backswing and started coughing/choking. Buddy amused, golfer not quite as much.
