***: That’s what I put next to Travis Hafner. No matter what Hafner and the Indians say, I believe his shoulder problems go back to last season. He has dealt with inflammation problems in his right elbow for years, which is why he could not play the field. This is the first time Hafner has really addressed these physical problems, and the Indians should shut him down for the rest of the year if that’s what it takes to get the arm and elbow strong again.
2006: That’s what this season feels like. Some fans want to blame Wedge, but the manager has been dealt a poor hand by the front office (and luck). The front office has been unable to bolster the bullpen. When Wedge and pitching coach Carl Willis have had arms in the bullpen, they showed in 2005 (ranked No. 1) and 2007 (No. 4) they can use them well. If you had to pick, the front office is having a much worse year than the manager on the field.
