Primer Dugout (and link of the day) 10-12-2012

New York Evening World, October 12, 1912:

GIANTS BEATEN AGAIN BY 2 TO 1, WITH MATTY OPPOSING BEDIENT

Bedient pitched the Red Sox to a 2 to 1 victory this afternoon and put the Giants in a position where they will have to win three straight games to capture the World’s Championship. This game, which was the turning point in the big series, was one of the most brilliantly played of the series and when it was over the Red Sox were almost prohibitive favorites in the betting.

[foreshadowing]Man, I can’t imagine a more exciting end to this series than the Giants winning three in a row. It couldn’t possibly get any more memorable than that.[/foreshadowing]

Maybe "fun" isn't the best way to describe the c-word ... just sayin'.

I don't know. I've had a lot of fun with them, no matter the appellation.
