R.B.I. Baseball 2014 coming to Xbox 360, XBox One, iOS, Android

Developed by MLBAM, endorsed by MLB. Don’t get too excited though, its actually developed by 2K studios and the guys who made MLB2K, who recently announced that they canceled that series.

My case sits about 6 inches from the wall. I opened it up, and it's filthy. I spent some time with come Q-tips cleaning it out, and I'm going to pick up some compressed air tomorrow. According to Core Temp it looks like I'm running about 10 degrees cooler now. Averaging just under 40 now. Thanks everyone.

Make sure your fans are spinning up properly. There's another utility called SpeedFan that will give you that information. Sometimes the bearings get crudded up with schmutz if you let things get too dirty.

They released some screenshots and stuff about RBI Baseball 14 today. It looks a lot less cartoony or throwback arcade style than I was expecting it to.

So it doesn't look anything like the old game and there is no online play. I'm going to go with no.

Yeah, I saw "no online play" and thought that was a big red flag. The barebone list of features and lack of a price and release date don't inspire much confidence either.

I guess it depends on what you mean by looking like the old game. It looks like pretty much the same format to me, except not pixelated. If you want a pixelated baseball game you're probably better off just dusting off the old NES, or getting an emulator and playing Baseball Stars.

Online play I can see being a big problem (and good feed into the above criticism. If you want an RBI Baseball 2 that you can play with your friends remotely then I can see how the look is a problem)

Though it's sort of a moot point for me as I don't have any of the platforms on which it's being released. Aside from that, the thing that makes it even a theoretical non-buy for me is I kind of doubt there is a long-running league mode, with player ageing and drafts and so on.
