Red Sox fire pitching coach - 09/03/01

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

The Red Sox score at a run per game clip and they fire the pitching coach!

Where is my Mariners hat?

JW,

What's wrong with letting Cone throw 120 pitches?

Average reaction of Red Sox fans to this move: "Ohmigod, the pitching coach was wicked pissed!"

Somewhere, Oil Can Boyd is typing up his resume.

Bruce--

Getting your inside dirt from Suzyn Waldmyn is not a great idea, especially if it's about the Red Sox.

Now if you want to know how to make Scott Brosius's favorite brownies, or what movies make Andy Pettitte cry, she's a great source.

Ironically enough, I just visited Cumberland Falls.

The Red Sox are the quintessential dysfunctional organisation. Collectively, the organisation and its fans are like a thousand tugboats tethered to a yacht, all pulling in a different direction. The desire for absolute control of every moment leads to winning some battles that may be more productive to lose which results in losing the war and its spoils. The "new england" mindset has yet to learn that control is achieved once control is relinquished. There are NO "i's" in team but there are too many "I's" in Red Sox Nation. The chip has become a boulder. It may take an avalanche to clear the harbour.

Wow, stick a fork in the Red Sox--they're really done. Never in my wildest pinstriped dreams did I suspect that an already-bad situation would turn into the Bronx Zoo Redux.

Anybody else notice that Pedro didn't win a single game after his "Why don't we just wake up the Bambino, and maybe I'll drill him in the ass" quote?

Bruce--

Was she there when Duquette told Cumberland he was fired?

She is a terrible announcer and completey biased. If you had said originally that ESPN was reporting this story, then I wouldn't have had any problem. When it comes from her, though, it's meaningless.
