Red Sox heating up ahead of Patriots’ Day game vs. O’s

Like the 26.2-mile course that runs through the suburbs to Boylston Street in Boston, the Major League Baseball season is a marathon, not a sprint.

The Red Sox are trying to pick up the pace, though.

Boston seeks its first series victory of the year when it hosts the Baltimore Orioles in the finale of a four-game set Monday in the annual Patriots’ Day morning game.

My cousin is running in the Boston Marathon- wish her the best of luck….

good luck random cousin I don't know, but someone I know, knows you...so that means I am on your side.

(that might have sounded sarcastic, it wasn't it was supposed to be genuine and a commentary how your random contacts on the web can influence your rooting interest)

It’s always fun to hear the different stories of people who know someone running. I don’t think anyone in New England is more than two degrees of separation from a runner, it’s such a great day locally, a big reason the bombing was so impactful is it’s one of those civic days that every city has that is just “your” thing and it felt like such a violation.

My cousin’s husband’s cousin (follow that?) ran a very credible 3:31. It’s her 15th time running it which makes my legs hurt just thinking about it.

What I always find funny about those 'threaded relations' like that, is that from the point of the view of the person saying it, it might not be really that big of a gap in familiarity with the person they are talking about.
