Jose Bautista is doing an AMA on Reddit.

I don't know what that means ... so I'm going to take it as disrespect.

heh.
ask me anything

What's an AMA?

AMA = "ask me anything"

@Eric: there's a great smark board (not quite RSPWFAQ, but much more activity) on Reddit, too: www.reddit.com/r/squaredcircle

Oh good, that clears all that up.

This seems like a bad idea. Isn't he just going to get asked "Did you take steroids?" over and over again?

My first question was what Jose Bautista has to do with the American Medical Association.

Ah crap, I briefly scanned the front page before submitting this exact thing. Darn my illiteracy.

Wait, shouldn't you have noted that a post earlier?

@Heinie: I still think a Wrestling Think Factory (WTF) is a hand-over-fist money-maker.

I don't hang out on Reddit, but I do read AMAs if they look interesting. Ken Jennings did one and it was terrific. Neil deGrasse Tyson did one and it was also awesome. Louis CK has done a few. Some of them are like, "I've worked at McDonald's for 6 years so AMA" and you get some insight in that sort of world you may not otherwise get.

I think it's always cool when noteworthy people open the floor to the public for questions in this way. Joey Bats doesn't say much of interest, but it's great he's making himself accessible to fans.

Actually this bit is funny:

Question: Would you rather fight 100 Jon Rauch-sized ducks, or 1 horse-sized David Eckstein?

JoeyBats_19: The Eckstein-sized horse...but shouldn't the question be 100 Eckstein sized hoses or 1 Rauch sized duck?

Did this joke originate here?

If you could impress one thing on young people today, what would it be?

That adults are not all they're cracked up to be. And most of them are wrong most of the time. This can be quite revelatory for a kid - often launching them on a personal quest of exploration, rather than of Q&A sessions with their parents.

Not to knock Tyson, whom I generally like and admire, but this sort of idealization of the child gives me stomach cramps. He can say this, but he should have added one other thing: And you (child) will become an adult and this will apply to you. And there are reasons that it works that way.
