Wow. You mean that even Fox executives might have a semblance of a conscience?

No, they feared embarrassment after negative criticism when the idea was leaked online.

I'm surprised they didn't accidentally blame Chevy Chase for this

I'm disappointed if the fans were actually going to do this. Not because of the 'strong' thing, but because of just giving in to that sort of advertisement attempt.

"Boston Srong"? What ever happened to "Red Sox Forever"? That's much better.

Where are the Cal Tech students when you need them?

Leading into the top of the third inning, fans in attendance at Busch Stadium in St. Louis were supposed to hold up white placards on their seats, which were going to spell out “Silverado Strong” in large letters that could be seen from the sky.

As a fan, why the #### would I do that? What's in it for me?

lots of people will do anything to get on tv, even rich ones

and fox has no "conscience" just sensitive to negative publicity and to positive $$$

Reddit then suggested replacing the tacky moment with upskirt shots of adolescents.

Oh, Reddit: where unpopular opinions are downvoted to oblivion and JP Arencibia is an above average defensive catcher.

The Best Fans in Baseball were going to do it simply out of their helpful altruistic spirit and moral superiority to other lesser fanbases.

I was at the game. I thought it was going to be an American Flag, because you could tell there were red, white, & blue signs.

The signs definitely did not make it clear to the fans that they were just going to be pawns in a Chevy ad. Perhaps that would have been made clear had it gotten to the point of the actual event.

Pretty tone-deaf by Chevy, in multiple ways.
