Remarks by the President in Welcoming the 2010 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants

And then there’s the guy with the beard.  Where’s he?  (Laughter.)  I do fear it.  (Laughter.)  Have you guys seen the SportsCenter ad where it’s—ESPN—where it starts doing a dance?  (Laughter.)

Now, underneath Brian’s beard, and the spandex tuxedo—(laughter)—and the sea captain costume, and the cleats with his face on them—is also one of the most dominant closers in baseball.  (Applause.)  And I do think, Brian, you should know that Michelle was very relieved that the press was going to be talking about what somebody else wears here in the White House –(laughter)—so that it’s not just her making a fashion statement.

"YOU SUCK!!!!!"

Obama: "Hey do I come down to your job and rock the slurpee machine."

"You can't since I don't have a job since you became President."

Do they play baseball in Kenya?

Thank goodness there's nothing important going on in America these days and he has plenty of time to entertain celebrity guests at the White House. These truly are the best of times.

There should be a big bonfire of all of the #1 jerseys made for these events. It would keep DC warm through the winter.

My bet was on True Blue to be the first one to #### the bed in this discussion. But Joey B takes the honors.

And while still holding his "red diaper babies" trump card in reserve. That brown diaper baby's ready to take on all comers.

Now, Dayn -- presumably Joey BS' heroes on the Lunatic Right never greeted championship teams while they were doing their level best to ruin the country.

Yeah, I know, everything in America is just wonderful. It's better than the Roaring Twenties, Morning in America, and the Internet boom put together.

I wonder who Obama will be entertaining tonight; maybe it'll be Lady GaGa, or perhaps the cast of "Moneyball".

I hear calliope music - I bet Boehner and Cantor are coming back!

For Christ sake's Joey. You regularly rail about threads going political, or Repoz guiding us in that direction. This didn't have to. If it does, it's on your ass.
   12. Loren F. Posted: July 26, 2011 at 06:32 PM (#3885812)
For Obama, it was either greet the Giants or sit through Boehner's third attempt to explain to the Tea Party members of the House what a credit rating is.

Yeah, you're right; I take back everything I ever said. Obama is the greatest and most hard-working president in American history. Let's go ahead and start carving his face on Mount Rushmore right now.

And seconding SoSH's point. This was just a cute little nothing piece that you took us down this road.

Really? I heard he was shiftless and uppity. Remember when he was spending $200 million a day to have an aircraft carrier take him and his posse to India?

Well, it probably would have happened anyway, (also, for the record, this was posted by Guapo, not Repoz) and it is certainly fair enough if Joey wants to take lame cheap shots at Obama--it's not like we (meaning me and others, not you) Liberals here don't do that with Palin, W, et al.

But the reason Joey's ass should be called out on it, as SoSH notes, is that Joey has b1tched several times about political threads, how much they suck, how he just wants to talk baseball, etc. To do that and THEN post dumbass, inflammatory crap about Obama deserves some metasnark.

I was wondering how quick one of those knee jerk comments was going to happen. As if any person on the planet regardless of job, is spending 24 hours a day, 7 days a week concentrating on one task. That comment was stupid when people were complaining about Congress and the roid witch hunt, it was stupid when complaining about Bush and any of the myriad time outs he took, and it's still stupid today.

   23. The Good Face Posted: July 26, 2011 at 06:58 PM (#3885834)
I have no love for Obama, but complaining about this? For reals? Presidents schmooze with championship sports teams, it's just a part of the job, like ####### up the economy or bombing random people in the Middle East. Getting worked up over it is kinda, well, crazy.
   24. Joey B. Posted: July 26, 2011 at 07:00 PM (#3885836)
What the heck do you liberals want, I've already acknowledged that the man is the greatest president in American history! In fact, not only does he belong on Mt. Rushmore, he should get a marble national memorial on the Mall in his honor, and they should seriously considering replacing Washington's face with his on the dollar bill. There's just no satisfying you guys.

That's not fair. The Kenyan socialist teleprompter has a critical fiscal crisis to deal with. But nothing of consequence happened during the W. years.

Well I, for one, would like you to form a separate country composed of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Alabama and Mississippi and all the other states that are the largest welfare recipients and produce the stupidest and most unhealthy people in the developed world and see how well you do without us progressive coasties.

It would take about a week or two for you to starve to death once you were done licking Obama's jizz off your chin.

Whatevs dude. The last guy I want getting involved and messin' up the economy is Barack HUSSEIN Obama. All he'd do is raise my taxes, cut my social security and probably make my kids learn gay history. Leave it to the REAL Americans like John Boehner and Eric Cantor and let those LIBRULS paint flowers on each other or whatever enviro crap it is that they do. AMIRITE? MAJOR DITTOES!

Substitute Florida for Mississippi, our nation can ill-afford to lose Ole Miss in our time of need.

Wait a second, are you insulting our Commander-In-Chief during wartime? Are you really providing aid and comfort to the terrorist enemies who want to kill us because they hate our freedom? Which side are you on, anyway?
