Ahhhh, the memories. The CBC sportscasters wore those pastel orange sportsjackets until the mid 80's.

Was there ever a French version of Take Me Out to the Ballgame?

Disco was well out-of-fashion by 1980. What were they thinking? Or had the outro hung around since 1977?

Disco was well out-of-fashion by 1980.

Disco Demolition Night -- June 12, 1979 -- actually matched up well with the historical trend and is a reasonable historical endpoint.(*)

Disco was dead as disco in 1980.

(*) E.g., Sister Sledge, He's the Greatest Dancer -- the straw that stirred the drink on the soundtrack to The Last Days of Disco -- peaked on the Billboard charts in May 1979.

I see those and I think of Ernie Afaganis saying, now lets go to Steve Armitage in Edmonton for the World University Diving Championships.

Hahaha, CBC Sportsweekend was a mainstay at my place! Unfortunately, it also brings back bad memories of how utterly awful Brian Williams was as a baseball broadcaster. He was great with Olympic sports, but I wanted to punch the TV when he talked about baseball.
