I get the impression that the players dislike Girardi's micromanaging, but that he lost his job/quickly was rehired because he told Loria to quiet down instead of yelling at the ump. Sounds like Loria took Girardi's comments personally and threw a hissy fit.
Don't worry too much, Joe. If the Fish fire you, there are several other managerial jobs that will be available. Speaking of jobs...
Like the situation involving Frank Robinson, Kasten may have been reluctant to change horses in midstream, perhaps because in the offseason, Kasten may be able to corral the horse he really wants as GM. (Frank Wren?)
