Royals’ Yordano Ventura will miss as little as one start as MRI finds no ligament damage

“I don’t know what to do!” cried Scrooge, laughing and crying in the same breath; and making a perfect Laocoon of himself with his stockings.  “I am as light as a feather, I am as happy as an angel, I am as merry as a schoolboy.  I am as giddy as a drunken man.  A merry Christmas to everybody!  A happy New Year to all the world!  Hallo here!  Whoop!  Hallo!”

FWIW, Sale was recently diagnosed with a "flexor strain", which was initially set to back him up a start or two but ending up knocking him out for slightly over a month. Not sure if this is a similiar injury but the time frame could be similar. Also, FWIW Sale actually finished the game he was pitching in, rather effectively, and then was diagnosed after unusual soreness the day after.

Dayton Moore's also got a bridge in Kansas he'd like to sell you.

Huh, doing some reading on the injury, a "mild valgus extension overload" it doesn't sound anything like Sale had, it fact, it sounds worse, is he really just going to miss one start? Kinda doubt that.

Hidden deep within the Royals media guide:

Team Physician: Dr. Nick Riviera

They've got to rush him back. There's pennants to be won!

Valgus extension overload does not cause lateral elbow pain either. The most common cause of lateral elbow pain is good old fashioned tennis elbow.

This is why doctors don't order MRIs for non-specific joint pains. You may end up having surgery on something that has nothing to do with your pain in the first place.
