Ryan Braun’s account supported by Biogenesis director

Anthony Bosch, former director of the now-shuttered Biogenesis clinic in Miami being investigated by Major League Baseball for allegedly selling performance-enhancing drugs to players, corroborated Tuesday the statement of Milwaukee Brewers leftfielder Ryan Braun that his attorneys used Bosch as a consultant only.

In an interview with ESPN, Bosch said he was contacted by Braun’s legal team in regard to their appeal of a positive test for elevated testosterone levels in November 2011. Braun won that appeal before an arbitration panel to avoid a 50-game suspension.

“I just answered a few questions from his legal team, not from Braun or any other ballplayer,” said Bosch, who denied knowing anything about PEDs and did not mention any other player whose name surfaced after the Miami New Times broke the story about the clinic.

Thanks to Butch.

Bosch, who denied knowing anything about PEDs

Well that sounds credible.

In other news, he is also supported by his mother, his agent... and Alex Rodriguez.

This doesn't mention the part where he denied knowing any of the players and then said they were his "clients" about 2 minutes later. He's not very good at the media stonewalling/lying bit.

Braun on phone: "And I'm putting a stop payment on that check. F### me? Hey, Bosch, can you read lips, F### YOU! Next time I'll call Robert Ludlum!"

"I know! Let's consult a fly-by-night drug dealer in Florida for a defense which pivots on the closing times of the Milwaukee FedEx franchises!"

"Be sure and ask him his opinions on heterotic string theory while you're at it. We wouldn't want to waste the cost of a long distance call."

"I know! Let's consult a fly-by-night drug dealer in Florida for a defense which pivots on the closing times of the Milwaukee FedEx franchises!"

That's what the case ended up being about but the early rumors were that Braun's result was "ubelievably high" and that they were going to challenge the results. That would be a legit reason to consult a PEDs expert -- not that Bosch seems to qualify seeing as how he knows nothing about PEDs. :-)
