I'm not buying that this is real. The deadspin link says the twitter account is confirmed but I'm not seeing it.

In case you were wondering, it really is Sammy Sosa, the real Sammy Sosa, on social media.

Rebecca Polihronis, marketing manager for Injex 21, a company that makes needle-free technology for drugs that are injected, confirmed Thursday that the former Cubs star has joined the image-sharing site Pinterest. Sosa is the CEO of Injex 21.

“We're learning social media, we’re not pros at it yet, but we’re working on it,” she said, also confirming that Twitter user @TheRealMr609, though unverified by the site, is authentic. She added that she and Sosa manage the Twitter account.

There's no doubt that it all does seem too good to be true...

Forgot the album with a yellow sweater, Clapper. I was thinking more along the lines of "Open Fire, Two Guitars" or even his second greatest hits album.

My mother was a member of the Columbia Record Club and used to get all his albums. Some of them were quite good; with the right material Mathis could be sublime -- his "Something I Dreamed Last Night," from the "Heavenly" album (the one with the big hit of "Misty"), is arguably the definitive version of that standard, as is his "When Sunny Gets Blue." About 1962 or so, his albums became less interesting and my mother stopped ordering them, even before he left Columbia.

Oh Sammy, I can't quit you. I am ready to confess--I am one of the fans who was scarred by the '94 strike, and was drawn back full force by the '98 home run chase. Sosa was such a huge part of that.

The Johnny Mathis comparison is bang-on.

A lot of people have probably seen the Lazytown "Cooking By The Book" video without being familiar with that villain guy. Does he have a name? He seems to be a different persona in every episode.

Robbie Rotten, who's determined to make sure the kids of Lazytown remain, forever, their normal slothful selves, only to be foiled again and again by Sportacus and Stephanie.
