Scarpetta leads Lynchburg to second straight no-hitter:  Braves’ Carolina League affiliate holds Wilmington hitless for second consecutive night

For two nights, Class A Advanced Lynchburg’s pitching staff has been unhittable. After Braves’ No. 1 prospect Lucas Sims and Alex Wilson combined for a no-hitter Thursday night against Wilmington, Cody Scarpetta and Benino Pruneda combined for a no-hitter of their own Friday, as the Hillcats defeated the Blue Rocks, 5-0.

That's quite cool - to go 2 days without a hit is amazing. No matter the level...

Also: A Braves affiliate with great arms. Surprising.

Today's more significant minor league news might be Bryce Harper's 3 HRs in his rehab game. Looks to be ready.

Sims has not been that good this year; after being fantastic last year. I hope he is just young for the league, or figuring something out. When you blow out 3 starter arms per year, you need a lot of fresh fuel to keep the machine running.

I was in Lynchburg this April. Possibly the hilliest town I've ever seen, and I've been to Zurich.

Looked like it could be a fun place though, if you don't mind a workout on your walk to work, or anywhere for that matter.
