SF Gate: Neukom pleased with team’s conditioning

And a Turbulence Training guide in every garage workout place thingee…

“If we’re healthy, I expect us to play exciting baseball and play the right way, and I’ll let the baseball speak for itself,” Neukom said as he watched batting practice Saturday.

Still, Neukom sounded overjoyed with the team’s progress this spring, not so much the bounty of wins and runs, but the preparation.

A key part of Neukom’s manifesto, “The Giants Way,” is physical and mental readiness. He believes the staff took that to heart and passed the message to the players.

“I was impressed with their conditioning,” Neukom said. “I was down here in January for that three-week camp. I liked the number of players who were down here. I liked how they were working. I liked the shape they came into camp to begin with. They did their own work in the offseason.

“We want every Giant at every level, when he comes onto the field, to be in better shape and say, ‘I’m better-prepared than my opponent and I’m going to concentrate on every pitch better than my opponent is.’ That’s how we’re going to win innings and win games.”

Sandoval is an oblate spheroid?

Sandoval has dropped about 30 pounds since the end of last year....but thats not the real story....in the boot camp they put him through in the off season no matter how hard he worked he had problems losing weight....mostly because it was turning to muscle...he is significantly stronger than he was last year. Look for 35-40 HR's this year.

So, Tom, you're saying he's in the best shape of his...life?
