SFGate: Fire forces Dodgers shortstop Furcal to evacuate

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Rafael Furcal and his wife have been forced to evacuate their home in an area of La Canada Flintridge threatened by the massive Station Fire.

I know a lot of ballplayers and coaches had to evacuate in the big San Diego fires a few years ago. Thoughts and prayers to all those effected.

I could see the flames on my drive home to Glendale tonight. It looked like lava running down the hills.

He lives right by me in La Canada and it got really, really bad there over the weekend. However, it has been safe there since Sunday night and everyone went back to their homes.
