Shane Victorino lands role on ‘Hawaii Five-0?

Bah! For years I thought Mickey Lolich was on Five-0…cause I remember my druncle yelling “Whoa, fat!” when I showed him a Lolich card.

It’s only right that Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Shane Victorino appear in an episode of “Hawaii Five-0.” Victorino is from the 50th State, of course, and he possesses enough charisma to at least get a callback. So, go and set your DVRs for Feb. 20 on CBS. Here’s a part of the episode’s synopsis, provided by The Five-0s website:

Five-0 investigates the murder of a man dressed as a Hawaiian NaKoa warrior found in the jungle near the site of a historical war re-enactment. Philadelphia Phillies outfielder and Hawaii native Shane “The Flyin’ Hawaiian” Victorino guest stars as a business executive on a company retreat.

“The Flyin’ Hawaiian”? More like “The Actin’ Hawaiian.”

Victorino’s character even gets a name: “Shaun.” Much like “Shane” — and the old “Five-0” series from the ‘60s and ‘70s, when Kam Fong played Chin Ho, or perhaps it was the other way around.

To be fair, I think every person in Hawaii will appear in that show before it's over, along with every person from Lost who is not otherwise occupied.

Will his character be introduced by a few bars of Bob Marley's "Buffalo Soldiers," as he is at the Cit?

How do we really know Victorino is from Hawaii? Has he shown his long-form birth certificate?? Has he??

I'm prolly the only person in the US of A that has never once seen an episode of Hawaii Five-0

"Chin" is too close to "Jin". When I see him and Locke on the show, I really don't care what their character names are supposed to be. They are Jin and Locke. A few episodes ago when it seemed Locke was working with the bad guys, or at least acting really shady, I just assumed the smoke monster had taken over.

I do like the show though.

Guarantee he upstages Alex O'Loughlin, joining the ranks of...every actor who's appeared alongside Alex O'Loughlin.

Clearly you never watched that crappy vampire series O'Loughlin starred in.

Maybe Dickie Bennett can escape Kentucky and flee to Hawaii.

A few episodes ago when it seemed Locke was working with the bad guys, or at least acting really shady, I just assumed the smoke monster had taken over.

When he said something along the lines of "there are things going on that you can't understand" I went from thinking he was doing a Locke imitation to knowing he was doing a Locke imitation.

11 beat me to it. Reading the phone book, doing the laundry, boiling water, I'd watch.
