Robinred, if you really care (and this was back in 1982): 630 Verbal; 700 Math. While I think the SAT roughly approximates an IQ test, the math portion doesn't sufficiently distinguish people who are really brilliant in mathematics (I'm not one of them) from those of us who are merely adequate mathematically. My greater intellectual strength has always been my skills as a writer, but that wasn't apparent in my SAT or my GRE (where I scored 800 on the math).

and the smartest person in baseball is NOT drayton mclane. THAT i guarantee you. and it is not tal freaking smith neither

FWIW, today's NY Times Crossword Puzzle was unusually easy for a Thursday -- 15 minutes, no tough ones. The theme was homonyms for "gall."
