Somebody was playing Mario Kart on Kauffman Stadium’s Crown Vision

Everyone loves a good Mario Kart session. That is, until the blue shells come out and someone drops from first place to last place faster than you can say “dibs on Yoshi.” Regardless, it seems like someone at Kauffman Stadium loves Mario Kart enough that they wanted to play it on Crown Vision.

So, how long before we see this happening mid-game?

I know the guy who does the video boards for Citi Field and MSG, and he tells me that this is incredibly common in the off-season.

Every stadium seems to have the stupid animated race. I always wondered why they don't put some kids on an XBox and let them race on the scoreboard.

Because watching people play video games is lame AF, and watching mascots run around is kinda fun? Oh, wait you were talking about "animated races" ... yeah those are dumb, too.

We were debating this in the lounge, but favourite MarioKart? I'm a huge believer that Double Dash is the best one, and that the series has really lost something by refusing to go back to its mechanics.

Yeah it was Double Dash. But 64 had the best Rainbow Road.

Not really into video games, but I've always wanted to play my favorite J-rock videos on the huge screen above the basketball court at the arena where I work. Never will, of course...

You can even defend the playing a bit to your bosses, by saying that the fast motion and uncertain framing (all of the action in video games does NOT take place in the center of the screen, as most television does) in video games is a good workout and test for the LED screens of big boards.

I like Mario Kart but prefer Smash Brothers. Last week I hit a 3 run walk off homer with Link. Got the baseball bat, timed it perfectly where 3 people were fighting, did the leg kick, and knocked them all off the stage for the win.

I've always found Smash a bit too kinetic for me.
