A lot of the players with the least break are really good or at least having good years- Kershaw, Holland, Taillon, Dominguez, Keller.

In tonight's Yanks-O's game, it's Germán's +31 vs. Hess's -53. And so far it's 6-0 Yanks.

This is interesting but pitch movement has always only been one limited element.

I think back to guys like Shawn Estes that threw a curveball that broke about 3 feet, but he couldn't locate it, and he didn't have any other pitches, so he kind of sucked.

A fastball ranked with least break here might be identified by hitters as a troublesome rising fastball. (Chapman's 4-seamer has the least vertical break of any pitch!)

There's also identification errors. Roberto Osuna, who has like a 0.25 ERA, throws a "sinker" at 96mph that's identified as having some of the least sink in baseball among sinkers. Maybe "sinker" isn't a perfect description of what this pitch is?

Meanwhile, CC Sabathia's "cutter" has literally zero cut - zero horizontal movement - he's joined by Ryne Stanek and Derek Holland, who have sliders that apparently do not slide.
