Steven Matz fiasco just latest dud from Mets rotation

I like and respect Mike Vaccaro. I think he's a really good guy and I like his writing a lot.

That being said, this piece is pretty weak sauce from him. Can we at least get to May before we figure the rotation will be mediocre-at-best?

Matz's performance was fairly predictable, considering that Gary and Keith spent a while during the prior night's game talking about how Matz looked like he had turned a corner this season.

No loss is good obviously; but if you're going to lose a game, this is the best case scenario. A fully rested bullpen going into the rubber match today with a day off tomorrow. Nice job by Gagnon and Sewald to eat innings.

Easily the best part of last night's broadcast was when Gary and Keith reported Ron Darling's surgery went well.
