After making a habit of turning opportunity into victory all weekend, comeback karma caught up with the Cardinals on Monday.
The Cardinals’ ninth-inning rally tied the score, but Milwaukee answered emphatically in the 10th inning with three runs off acting closer Ryan Franklin to take a 6-3 victory Monday at Busch Stadium. The loss ended the Cardinals’ season-best winning streak at five and also put them behind Milwaukee by percentage points in the wild card standings.
...
Bill Hall led off the 10th inning with a solo home run, and three more hits followed off Franklin (3-3). Hall’s homer broke the tie, and an error by Aaron Miles coupled with J.J. Hardy’s RBI single added to Milwaukee’s lead.
So if the Cards don’t acquire bullpen help before the deadline, will it be safe for the Cards’ GM to walk the streets of St. Louis?

1. The Kids Are Enright (1k5v3L)I'm not saying the Cardinals bullpen would be good if they got rid of Isringhausen, but it wouldn't be nearly the eye sore that it is now. That's the more important thing than acquiring anybody. It also would allow them the luxury of 13 position players on the 25 man roster, rather than building an entire roster around an attempt to guide Isringhausen through his delicate situation.
2-4 with a 3-run HR and a BB, and two ninth-inning muffs that would have been called errors everywhere else in the universe but STL.
The first play was difficult as the pitcher slowed it down. The second one should have been an error.
And deprive Aaron Miles of a basehit?!?!? Blasphemer!!!!
