Taking Back the Ballparks - Angels voting thread

We’ve got four choices for the team that will be named later (in all likelihood).

It could come down to whether the folks who think the Big A is a nickname, not a name, dammit, can rally around a single contender.

Choose 1:

A) Anaheim Stadium
B) Angels Stadium
C) The Big A
D) Gene Autry Something (if naming the place after the Singing Cowboy is the choice, we’ll figure out the proper appendage in a subsequent vote).

Next up: The home to the BFIB.

I originally went with the Big A, but it can still be called that as a nickname, and Autry deserves to have his name on there.

Autry.

B) Angel Stadium. "The Big A" works as a nickname but would be a stupid real name IMO.

B) Angels stadium

Angels Stadium...

But I am kind of disappointed that it isn't 'Angels Stadium of Anaheim'.

The whole name is pretty important.

This thread is funny. The Angels/SoCal people voted for the B, and people outside of the area are voting D.

I noticed that. If you Halo fans want to goose the results, you're welcome to invite other fans on here to drive up the B vote (that was kind of the hope when I started this).

I'm not sure how I'd do that. There's not too many Angel fans here, and the SoCal fans that are here are mostly Dodger fans — there might be almost as many Padres fans as Angels fans here, and that's a sad thing to admit.

I'm really surprised at how much people outside the area think Autry still matters to Angel fans. He doesn't.

I'm not a SoCal guy, but I'm still voting for B.

The Big A. Angels Stadium is boring.

Idgaf about Autry, though I get why people do.

Angels Stadium is boring.

That's my feeling. And it's never even been its actual name, so it's not like it has inertia going for it.

I'm going with D.

I though that's what it was named in real life, but I see the current name is the singular Angel Stadium. Maybe that's what people thought they were voting for? If Gene Autry "Something" can be a suggestion, I think Angel Stadium and Angels Stadium are the same thing.

BTW, I tried to find the nomination thread, so I clicked on the 'angels' and 'stadium names' tag on this thread. But the thread is not there. And so I found it through google, and lo and behold it's tagged with 'angels' and 'stadium names.' Do tags just not work on this website?

Well I grew up in O.C. in the 60's, 70's and early 80's so was and still am a fan. My dad and grandfather are Red Sox fans so my allegiances were determined before birth, but I always like the Angels and used to see about 20-30 games a year(never forget the one game where a drunken guy must have shouted "DECINCES" at least 400 times..it was awesome).

Anyway, I choose C

The Big A

I vote (B)

I still like my suggestion of The Halo (not sure why it didn't get any traction), but I'll go with Gene Autry Entity X.

D. Autry something. But this one seems to have only one answer I don't like, which is A.
