Taking Back the Ballparks - Braves voting thread

Not surprisingly, there weren’t a lot of suggestions for the Braves new park in the wilds of Cobb County.

Choose 1:

A) The Battery
B) Cobb Stadium
C) Hank Aaron Field
D) Peachtree Park

Next: The series concludes near where it started.

But I'm disappointed "New Coke Stadium" didn't make the final cut.

But I reserve the right to change my vote later if something else emerges as the clear competitor for keeping C from winning. Nothing against Hank, who is a legend, but I HATE naming stadiums after former players.

Same rationale as Baldrick. So even though I nominated Peachtree Park, I'm not voting for it (right now).

If Cobb wins I am going to start calling it Ty Cobb Stadium just because of that.

Assuming there's no minimum participation level for voting,

Nope. Sure, it involves an Atlanta-area team, but TBtB ain't Georgia.

I didn't read the nominating thread and was confused why people wanted to name it after Ty. Yeah he's from Georgia but so what? I forgot that it was the county name.

Anyway...C. While I share concerns about naming it after players or people in general Hank is a great legacy to have and at the risk of being macabre he's old enough that he's unlikely to do something to sour his name.

Due to the holiday season (and an entry error on my part), this has been back-burnered for a few weeks. We'll leave it open for voting through the end of Wednesday.

A - The Battery, in honor of Bobby Cox's 1995 arrest.

(And to preempt the complaints: No, domestic violence is not a joking matter, despite the fact that it goes unpunished far too often.)

I like the last three options, but I'm going to vote for D.

In a narrow vote, Cobb Stadium edges Hank Aaron Field.

We'll begin our final stadium next week.
