Tampa Bay Rays prospect Josh Sale throws change at stripper, brags about it on Facebook

For most baseball players, a 50-game drug ban would be a career low-point. Most baseball players aren’t Josh Sale.

The Tampa Bay Rays’ minor league prospect showed the world how much of a winner he really is by boasting on Facebook about humiliating a stripper for cheap laughs.

More proof that money can’t buy class, I guess.

Future Josh Hamilton? Or Matt Bush?

Lenny Dykstra.

I was leaning toward a future Josh Lueke given the misogyny of the story, but sure, those guys work too.

Matt Bush I'd guess, even with all his troubles I don't recall hearing about Hamilton screwing over/ screwing with other people.

Lenny Dykstra?

From what I've read Sale seems to be a class A scum bag, OTOH
from BA:
Scouts rave about Sale's makeup and work ethic. He is articulate and studies hard in school, but won't make it to Gonzaga.

Seiler:
He comes from an interesting background, as both of his parents are bodybuilders, and he himself is a gym rat. That kind of work ethic also carries itself onto the field, where he’s considered one of the best players for makeup.

Rays Prospects:
He's a workout warrior with plus make-up, though, so he'll remain passable in the field and won't relegate himself to DH duty.

but my favorite, from Amazing avenue:
Final Opinion

Josh Sale is probably the best pure hitter in this year’s high school draft class, depending on what you consider Bryce Harper. ***
I do expect Sale to be there when the Mets pick, and I’d hope the Mets consider him when they make up their minds. Sale’s got power, patience, and bat speed on his side, and those are three things that translate well to professional baseball.

Well Sale was there when the Mets picked, and they didn't take him, they took someone named Matt Harvey, I hope Amazing Avenue has gotten over that one.

Heh. That's awesome. Thanks, Sycophant.

I looked at his FB page...completely tatted up, can't spell, speaks Douchlandic,...well done Rays.

There must be some way the yankees can work a deal for him.

Threw 50 cents at a stripper tonight. First time. Got kicked out and she got so pissed thought she was gonna cry. Your a stripper. Be thankful. Hoe.

This is absolutely inexcusable! Saying "your" when you mean "you're"? Just awful.

And why drag a defenseless garden tool into this maelstrom...?!

I'd like to know why he threw a change at her? Why not just go with a high hard one. Chicks dig that.

I looked at his FB page...

Me too. Best part - most recent post

"Sorry about that everyone"

Two posts down - "It's a rakes and shovel conversation. No hoes allowed"

and this awesome publicly viewable pic

It's kind of amusing when people look down on others for their vocation, even though these judgmental jagoffs are frequenting said place of employment.

Second angriest person (after the stripper) about this would be Chris Sale, who doesn't want to be confused with this moron.

They are what they are -- young guys with too little education and too much money who tend to treat women less than ideally. Especially when wasted. Frat boys of the diamond. Young Mr. Sale appears to fall on the lower end of the continuum, but no way is he atypical.

If you can't handle him at his worst, you don't deserve him at his best.

I have been meaning to ask TB fans what Lueke's reception there has been like. Seattle management got all sorts of crap for trading for him.

He went to one of the most exclusive private Catholic high schools in Seattle, one that claims that, according to its Wiki page, "Approximately 99% of Bishop Blanchet graduates continue on to higher education."

Over/under on him getting nailed for steroids in the next three years? Definitely taking to the over.

I know some strippers. They are the exact same as other women. No better, no worse. I'm liberal on sexuality, it's human nature, I don't even think the profession is immoral (though it's sometimes in bad taste), same with pornstars and escorts (though I've read some horrible things about the practices of those industries, so I wouldn't want my female friends or relatives to do those things for that reason, not because I think it's wrong for them to get naked and/or have sex in front of people, sometimes that makes you happy). And even if I did think strippers were immoral, I would never treat them like that. Just the smugness is horrible, let alone the horrible putdown and the huge hypocrisy of going there.

I think the kind of guy who'd do that is also the kind of guy who'd stiff a diner waitress on a tip, or #### on the floor of a hotel bathroom because he'd be amused by the thought of a housekeeper having to pick it up.

The way that you treat service personnel (and yes, strippers qualify) says a lot about you as a person.

Agreed. It seems there's at least 16 or 17 first round draft picks a year getting suspended 50 games for meth/amphetamines. Oh wait...

It was first said about show biz, but probably applies to baseball as well: "Be nice to people on your way up to the top. You meet the same people on your way back down to the bottom"

I don't think it's fair to extrapolate to all ballplayers based on one jackass. Hell, a fair # of ballplayers will end up marrying a stripper so there must be some goodwill there.

Not for the Rays; they had four guys suspended for it last year.

Very weird.

What really pissed off the Rays is that he missed the cutoff stripper.

Seriously, MDMA is much less harsh on the system...maybe meth flushes out more quickly.
   36. MM1f Posted: May 29, 2013 at 07:51 PM (#4455092)
The meth/amphetamines positive test usually means the guy took "greenies"/Aderall rather than, you know, METH meth.

However, in Sale's case I heard (on the street, not from any kind of real source) his amphetamines test was caused by ecstasy/molly/MDMA rather than greenies or Aderall. Which, from just lookin at the douche, seems believable.
