Tangotiger: Most Perfect HOF ballots

Ranked from best to worst, compared to how the Straight Arrow readers evaluate the careers of all these players, using a point system I posted here, and using as the source material from leokitty.

Feel free to draw a line as to what is an acceptable ballot and what is not, with respect to the Straight Arrow readers’ view.  If you have a different view, create your own point system, and evaluate each ballot under that. [...]

100 Lynn Henning
100 Bob Klapisch
100 David Lennon
100 Jeff Passan
100 Larry Stone [...]

14 Dan Shuaghnessy [sic]
-2 Howard Bryant
-2 Murray Chass (w/FrankThomas)
-13 Juan Vene
-100 (whoever submits a blank ballot)

If it is an unsigned blank ballot, do you get extra points?

I didn't know there would be a graded test on this.

"Most perfect" is bad grammar. Something's either perfect or it isn't.

Na-na-na-na-NAH-na.

That's a pretty useful link, as it links in turn to the ballots. Unfortunately, TR Sullivan's link is broken. The clowns at the bottom don't deserve to be linked to or responded to or thought of, though I admit to being a little curious how Juan Vene's train wreck came about.

There's isn't. This is nothing more than a comparison of the ballots to the information here, which in turn is nothing more than a crowdsourced vote of visitors to Tango's Web site.

I too don't get the over the top response to Tango's posts about this. It's his visitors that put the thing together and I think stuff like this is kind of fun, maybe I'm just not aggro enough to be a true blue primer poster...

I don't mean to sound sarcastic, but what on earth is Straight Arrow? A comic book ripoff of Green Arrow?

I don't think it's a grammar issue. I think you call that a "usage" issue.

My most perfect ballot:

1. Harvey Haddix;
2. Pedro Martinez; and
3. Mark Buehrle.

Those stiffs couldn't carry Charlie Robertson's jock strap. He was the most most perfect of them all.

So you'd argue that the preamble to the Constitution is badly worded?

Re Juan Vene - apparently I am a huge racist because I remembered his ballot from last year and when I saw the following posted in the Gizmo thread:

Jose de Jesus Ortiz ballot:
Bagwell, Biggio, Bonds, Clemens, Glavine, Kent, Maddux, Mussina, Piazza, Schilling

I thought to myself, holy crap, that insane Spanish-speaking guy with the appalling ballot last year has seen the light! Wonder how that happened.

Constitution preamble correction:

we the people of the Uniter States, in order to form a better union...

Nah.
