TBS’ New Postseason Commercial- With Yankees!

The generous PR folks over at TBS just sent along their new postseason ad to premiere on the Stew before it hits heavy rotation on television and in movie theaters this weekend. Set to a rendition of “I Love This Town” that Bon Jovi recorded at the All-Star Concert in Central Park, the spot is 2:30 long and features, according to the press release, “some of the players expected to be competing in this year’s Postseason.”

...

Wow, the Yankees are “expected to be competing in this year’s Postseason”. Blink and you will miss the Twins, who are only one game out in the Central. You will completely miss the Blue Jays, who, y’know, are closer to the playoffs then the Yankees. That still is a good song though, although I’m sure it will be overplayed AGAIN this postseason, causing me to hate this song again. Seriously, there IS such a thing as too much Bon Jovi.

A mere corollary to the fact that there is no such thing as too little Bon Jovi.

Damn Doc, you beat me to it, and much funnier than anything I was going to write.

You just wait, come October the Yankees are going to be playing in October. Because the Yankees won the AL East. They always won the AL East. Tampa Bay is terrible. They have always been terrible. Don't believe me? I have this history right here that says it. Still don't? Too bad, MLB and Fox will have to send you to Room 101 for re-education.

That lowgrade Westerberg lift is about 2:35 too long.

Can anyone tell me how many Octobers there are? I think I heard there is only one, but I could be wrong.

If we go back to the birth of the calendar, a couple thousand give or take.

Also not if you were going by the French Repubican calendar during the Revolution. Those 10 day weeks would suck.

Are you calling Dane Cook a liar?

I don't think there are any Octobers on the Mayan Calendar. But everything will probably get all bleeped up in 2012, when Cats and Dogs start living together, the Orioles become competitive again and Duke Nukem Forever will be released. So there maybe in the chaos an October will pop up.

I think 2012 is also when Al Davis finally dies.

Hmm. There's only one October, and it contains just Two True Outcomes, Ks and HRs.

I got through the first 1:38 and counted Derek Jeter at least 3 times. I think viewers of TBS may have the makings of a false advertising suit against the network.

Either that or he is revealed as the Anti-Christ.
