1. Tim Stauffer, Trot Nixon's Coming (Dan Lee) Posted: November 15, 2007 at 02:38 PM (#2615568)It's not like Texas will be his only option. The guy's been an all-star in three of the past four seasons.
What does he need to apologize for again?

Is that even legal?
He went apeshit and attacked a camera man in Arlington before a game. His apology was half-assed to say the least. There was also a time when there was a deal to send Rogers to the Reds. He had a no trade clause, the Rangers weren't going anywhere, and Rogers was to become a free agent at the end of the year. Rogers vetoed the trade. Despite all his success in Texas, many fans still "hate" him.
He is the winningest pitcher in Rangers' history. For some odd reason (probably that as a LHP he induces a lot of groundballs), he has pitched well in Arlington. I think this would be his fourth stint with the Rangers. Maybe they are co-dependent?
Incidentally, this story was also reported in the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I was delighted to see that the FWST's writer's name is Anthony Andro. I hope that he does a retrospective on Mark McGwire's career at some point.
He was generally liked by the fans in Texas. The Reds veto was overlooked by the time he came back. I think that the media would have a hard time forgetting what he did. There is more to this story than what I previously mentioned. Somebody in the organization leaked to the press that Rogers was faking an injury to miss a start and pad his stats. Many in the media ran with this story without checking the validity. Of course, if you want to know if this is true, you ask Rogers. If he says, "no", well that is also the response of a guilty man. Was the camera man the guy who leaked this lie? No. Was the camera man the author who ripped Rogers in the press? No. Did somebody deserve to be punched? Probably. I'd like to see Rogers back with or without the apology. He could teach a lot to the lefties in the organization (CJ Wilson, Kam Lowe, Kason Gabbord).
Behold! A new primer joke to insert into all threads! I blame posters like NJASDJDH and Albert Belle.

They should have their children taken away?
Under many circumstances, this is legal.
After the cameraman incident, he half-assedly apologized to the fans, his teammates, his family, the cameraman - everyone except the team.
