The 2012 Red Sox Season ends - Grantland

I’m not old enough to remember 1965 or 1966. I did grow up with my father’s stories about that terrible time period. I do remember the ‘Gansett ads.

The farm system is nearly desiccated, and there isn't enough talent on the roster to contend anytime soon

Is the farm system dessicated? Cause that was the only selling point I thought the rose-shaders had.

It's actually a better word choice than decimated. The farm may actually be dried-up, 1-in-10 prospects were not killed.

The Sox have a top 10 farm system and a set of very good prospects who project to be ready by 2014 (Bradley, Barnes, and Bogaerts).

The Narraganset ad was the best part of that piece.
