The Baseball Archive: Database Version 5.3

Lahman’s Database has been updated, as it now includes statistics from the 2005 MLB season.  Awesome.

And ... it’s free to download.

Woo-hoo!  No spreadsheet yet, though.

Sure, but the comma-delimited version can easily be imported into one’s favorite spreadsheet program.  Doesn’t have all the bells and whistles, though.

Feh.  Among Sean Lahman’s many crimes against humanity is that he makes me waste every January honing my database skills.

I can’t decide who deserves worse punishment: Forman for Baseball-Reference, Furtado for Baseball Think Factory, or Lahman et al. for Lahman’s Database.

One of these years, I need to learn how to use this.

Mr. Lahman, my copy of Out of the Park 6 thanks you, and I thank you.

Anyone know how to import this into either Baseball Mogul or Diamond Mind Baseball?

Mr. Lahman, my copy of Out of the Park 6 thanks you, and I thank you.

How can you import players into it?

Didn’t know there were bells and whistles in the spreadsheet.  Just liked the convenience of having all the importing done.  Now I’ll have to check for b’s & w’s.

Without the Lahman DB, there wouldn’t be a Baseball-Reference, and quite possibly not a BTF.

In that case Sean Lahman (et al) must be the ‘Most Important Man’ in the world…  :) ...
