The Biz of Baseball: 20 DVD Set Chronicles 65 Years of the World Series

MLB announced today that MLB Productions will make a special archive of all 65 years worth of the World Series on film available by DVD boxset for $179.99.

The incredible set comes on 20 DVDs, includes a 58-page booklet tracing memorable World Series moments dating back to 1903, with the Forward by Bob Costas.

The set will be available in stores on Nov. 10, but can pre-ordered now through MLB.com. For the baseball junky, here is the breakdown of each disc in the set:

Nothing before 1943? The mid 1970s PBS show "The Way it Was" had an episode on the 1936 World Series.

"Junky" is an acceptable spelling of "junkie". Kind of unfavored nowadays though, like "hippy" and "cooky".

But what exactly is covered during each World Series? Just the highlights?
Are there bonus features (downloadable stats, images, commentary tracks, trivia)?

From the lengths, it doesn't look like there are any full games on there. So what do you get? Any full innings, or some key at bats and a bunch of talking heads?

They've remastered all the games with Sterling and Waldman.

Yep, and for the first 15 or 20 years, you might as well be watching a silent movie. You should rent a year or two from Netflix, or watch it on the Baseball Channel before you think about plunking down 180 bucks, trust me.
