The critics, Cubs-White Sox won’t get under Sveum’s skin

He’s so honest that the dishonest dread
Meeting the manager with the replaceable head…

He understands that the second-guessing is part of the job.

“It’s gonna happen,” Sveum said Wednesday. “I don’t read the papers. I’m not a guy that Tweets, or whatever you call that thing. I’m not a big computer guy. I don’t read the news.

“(During) my free time, I watch the NFL channel as much as I can…to keep up on (things) for fantasy reasons.”

...Sveum thought back to Tuesday’s walk-off loss in St. Louis, how the Cardinals won it when Yadier Molina hit a ball past diving second baseman Darwin Barney, who was shaded one way because that’s where the data said he should be.

“There’s nothing you can do about it,” Sveum said. “Sometimes it is a game of inches. As long as you know that your team is giving everything they’ve got, and the preparation is there through the coaching staff, (you live with it).

Blown saves come in spurts.
Oh god it hurts.

Repoz quoted my favorite Richard Hell song. Now it will be in my (nonreplaceable) head all day. Did Nick Lowe produce that?

Did Nick Lowe produce that?

Yeah, the '79 Radar Records version. I think there were 2-3 later releases of it though.

I am eagerly awaiting the rant...

Come on, Dale -- 85% of the @#!@$$! world's working. The other 15% come out here. It's a playground for the ###########!

Nowadays it's more like "70% of the @#$@@% world's working. The unemployed can't afford to come out here. It's a @#%@$ playground for the idle rich."

dale is a nice guy but to put it nicely he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer and i am not just talking about baseball.

as his career progresses i keep going back to the movie 'being there' because dale says the things he has heard others say so folks think he knows baseball but really he doesn't. but he enjoys the game so sitting on the bench is just fine with him

He really said that he spends his free time working on his fantasy football team? Points for honesty I guess.
