It’s a freakin’ Frisellathon! Keane takes in his first game at Citi Field.
The scoreboard sucks. All the adds on the board are so low rent –Buy your Gold Jewelry, Used Cars Dealers (Bud Selig?), Construction Equipment (Tony Soprano) Free Credit Report and Cesars Casinos-they only business missing up there are Madam Marie’s Rub and a Tug and the Canarsie Indians Tax Free Cigarettes Shack. The old board at Shea , kicks $iti’s ass everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. When you walked into Shea the first thing you checked was the day’s lineup. Not on the $iti board until game time. Out of Town Scores? At Shea right in front of you. At $iti? Up high near the lights plus you need Lasix surgery to see it properly. Thank God for the Black Berry.
And what is with these metal guard rails on the seats? And the Plexiglas on the railings next to the seats? If anyone can tell me what purpose they serve please e mail me or leave a comment because the only purpose I can see them serving is to annoy the #### out of me.
I’m sure $iti Field will grow on me and seriously I hate being negative about the place like I said it is a beautiful place but I just wish the Skill Sets would stop catering to the corporate ######## and start making the real Mets fan happy. There is a real venomous vibe coming from a segment of Mets fan base that I have never experienced before in all the years I’ve rooted for this team. There is an unbelievable disconnect between the owner of this team and it’s loyal fan base. I understand it is a business and the Skill Sets are hurting since the Madoff scandal but this organization is at a cross roads now.

1. The District Attorney Posted: April 20, 2009 at 01:55 PM (#3145294)Dude, at Shea, you couldn't even go down to the field level where all the good restaurants were. Now everyone can access the upscale food court. Yeah, you can't get into the area where a ticket costs four digits. You're gonna complain about that? You're still doing a lot better than you used to be!
100% false, I just did it the other day.
Oh, Jesus Christ.
That assumption is based on what?
It really doesn't. The picture is huge and crystal clear.
I believe this new one is updated more frequently, plus it has the neat feature of telling you how many outs and what runners are on base. So again, dumb complaint.
On the other hand, the Shea scoreboard would only tell you that #18 was playing third base... now the man has a name, and you will actually know who he is! Amazing.
This did surprise me... didn't detract at all from my enjoyment of the game, of course, but I know what he means here, I was not expecting to see that.
I thought Steve Phillips was the guy who had "skill sets", although I guess you could transfer it to Wilpon since he's the one who said it.
Yeah, that just isn't true at all. Ask the Knicks. (BTW, I hope Francoeur gets seats in the Delta section.)
Look, if you just want to see some baseball, pick a cheapo game (this group includes two of the division rivals, including the one that is currently 11-1), get an upper deck seat, pack a lunch and knock yourself out. No one is forcing you to go to an in-stadium restaurant or Alyssa Milano's store. If you want to, you can. You weren't deprived of anything, so I really don't get what the problem is.
Purists should also at least acknowledge that the obnoxiousness of the music has been turned way, way down. (Although bringing back "Sweet Caroline" makes up for some of that.)
Apparently someone is trying to start a nickname.
So, people shouldn't expect that the absolute best hamburgers and tacos in the entire city are at Mets games? What a letdown. I didn't think my expectations were too high, but apparently so.
I'm tired of all this negativity from Mets fans. Makes us all look really small.
Take it to the Twins thread.
And Steve...most of the other ones are working the anti-graffiti shift!
and I guess some are still trying to beautify Tompkins Sq Park
