Disagree. The Rays have built a team to be ignored. Aside from Chris Archer, nobody else on the roster matters much at all.

They still have Kevin Kiermaier, the man who challenges for the league lead in WAR based purely on outfield defense. How does he do it? Watch him every second of the game and see if you can figure it out!

well, one team has to be, so if not the Rays, then who? Shoot, even if every team had to put a rap star and a stripper on their 25 man (person?) squad, and have each of them perform their respective craft while playing a position in the field for at least one inning a game, one team would still be the least interesting and worthy of this criticism.

At least then they'd be trying to compete for some level of interest. It's as if these Rays are looking to be invisible, on purpose.

I'm not entirely convinced that the Rays are less interesting than the Pirates. I guess Harrison and Taillon are mildly interesting, but I'm not sure what else is worth getting excited about. Starling Marte and Felipe Rivero don't exactly move the excitement needle.

I'm not entirely convinced that the Rays are less interesting than the Pirates.
Or the Tigers. However, they both have the ballparks and uniforms that at least superficially look like the major leagues, unlike Tampa.

With the McCutchen/Cole divestments, the Pirates have passed from dull to bad. Good teams are all alike, but bad teams are all interesting in their own ways.

The Rays actually thought "The Least Interesting Team In Baseball" was a good marketing slogan? No wonder they're in such dire straits. They really screwed up, missing out on the opportunity to grab "The Little Engine That Could". Brian Cashman is a genius.

Ray Searage will probably break his own record for mound visits in a season, so there's that.

Getting Daniel Hudson for Corey Dickerson makes them more interesting, because Daniel Hudson is the most exciting player in baseball.

Heh, exactly my thoughts. They still have interesting players, and maybe more interesting players than multiple other teams. I'd say the Marlins are now clearly less interesting, perhaps the Reds or Padres or Braves or White Sox fit better as the least interesting team right now (and I'd say they're not interesting until the various prospects start popping up no matter how good the systems are).

I don't think any team that has Joey Votto could be "the least interesting team".
