Too painful for words.

If only he had a glove. Or, I dunno, eyes.

I'm rather disappointed that this thread has been up for two whole hours and RJ of the North still hasn't linked to his favorite thread.

It was catcher's interference. Goldschmidt's bat hit his arm, causing him to move his mitt/take his eye off the ball. As at bats go, it probably wasn't his favorite.

The fact that you can actually see his cup move is what elevates this to poetry.

You gotta ring them bells, you gotta ring them bells
You gotta make 'em sing and really ring them bells
It's such a painful thing to hear 'em ting a ling
You gotta ring. them. bells.

Jeebus, you're right. I watched it quite a few times, but was following the ball - not believing that neither he nor the hitter got a piece of it.
