T.J. Simers: Dodgers owners will be put on the hot seat

Here’s your chance to tell them where they have already gone wrong. Ask them anything, although now is probably not a good time to ask Magic who lasts longer in L.A., Juan Uribe or Mike Brown?

It’s time to get some answers. No mumbo jumbo, so I will begin by asking Kasten to mute his phone. We already know he loves to talk and say little, so no need for him to confirm it.

What question would you like asked? Maybe something about concession lines, bathrooms, or something like this: “Just how idiotic were you guys to partner up with McCourt?”

Call me skeptical, as I was when the McCourts arrived, but I don’t think the new owners have done a good job since taking over.

They botched their introductory news conference, and first impressions are often the lasting ones.

Has any other baseball columnist, ever, had as much and as consistent outright contempt for the team he covers as ol' TJ? If history is any guide, he'll be writing "botched introductory news conference" columns well into next season. His first question for the new owners will be "Just making sure you're not considering hiring anyone who has ever opened an Excel document for a front-office position?"

To be fair, the Dodgers have been pretty easy to be contemptuous of. But it is strange that he seems to have exactly the same hatred for the new regime as the old one. When all you have is a hammer, everything in the world starts to look like a nail....

Simers sucks. Even at his best, he's not very good.

The team has the best record in the majors, and is in first place by 6 games. Since Simers only knows how to write negative columns, he has to go after ownership because if he criticizes the team he will look like an even bigger idiot than usual.

Reading this one might get the impression that TJ has already decided the facts before completing the interview.

frankly i don't feel comfortable with some of the developments in the change of ownership, either. i think its sad that tj is the only one asking pointed questions of the new group. cuz he does come off as a clown, which makes it easy for him to be ignored.

Pointed questions being how much money does McCourt get off of parking?

I think the only question that matters is "will you use the team as your personal piggy bank?". That isn't the type of question that anyone is going to answer truthfully if the real answer is yes so it is a pointless question to ask.

If he came off as a clown, it would be easy to ignore him. He comes off as a petulant, perpetually constipated child on the payroll of a major newspaper, which makes him sadly more difficult to ignore than blatant clownship would.

he's being ignored pretty good by the ownership group.

Just don't look! Just don't look!
