Pro tip: Hire a pretty girl to pose as your girlfriend. The scouts will think you have confidence, and you get to hang out with a pretty girl to boot!

This reminded me that I've been meaning for months to check on how my first cousin's son is doing as an Ole Miss pitcher. Turns out he must've left after his junior year; 32nd-round draft choice now pitching for Detroit's Single-A team in Florida.

Hmmm ... 7 Ks & 9 BBs in 21 innings. Already 24 years old, or at least will be next month. *sigh*

Complete game the last time out, though.

I don't think anyone who is an athletic star in college needs to put out a job ad for a girlfriend.
