Sox player development director Chris Getz also has an idea, and he told WSCR-AM 670 on Sunday that Jimenez is “really close” to joining the big-league club.
“He has done nothing but perform,” Getz said. “This guy’s been able to drive the ball to all fields. He’s been able to set up pitchers. ... He’s got a pretty good arm. We just want to make sure he’s as ready as possible. We’re getting really close.”

1. This is going to be state of the art wall Posted: August 06, 2018 at 12:36 PM (#5721741)I kinda doubt that is a factor in whether to call up Eloy, as opposed to starting his arbitration clock. It was correctly pointed out in another thread recently that there really are only a few prospects a year where it really makes any sense for a team to play service-time games with them, but Jimenez really does appear to be good enough that he's one of them.
Over in Gonfalon Cubs, we've been pissing and moaning lately about how that trade has worked out for the Cubs so far. *grumble*
They'd lose me as a fan if that happens. At least until they actually are good again. He should already be in Chicago. Worrying about service time in 2025 with the CBA expiring before then is pointless.
ZIPS thinks he's ready to put up a 120 wRC+ now and there is nothing more to prove at AAA, he's bored by his own admission at times and he's hitting 380 with a wRC+ over 200!
See #4.
there's just too much time left this year to really drag the service time games into next season IMO
Ummmmm.... :-)
