Triple A fan throws peanuts at Brandon Inge

Brandon Inge is trying to make his way back to the majors with the Pirates by playing at Triple-A and last night he almost got into a fight with a Toledo Mud Hens fan throwing peanuts at him.

Toledo is the Tigers’ Triple-A affiliate and Inge played there in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2008, 2011, and 2012. You’d think maybe all that time in Toledo playing for the home team would make him immune to peanut targeting, but I guess not.

Perhaps someone holds a grudge from Inge's earlier Toledo tenure.

This situation apparently got out of hand, some confrontation and Indy outfielder Jerry Sands was suspended for entering the stands.

I'd give very good odds it was a Tigers fan doing that. There's this small minority of Tigers fans that LOVE Inge for being Inge, and then there's another, louder minority of Tigers fans that hate his guts because he's the WORST PLAYER EVAR and some fans still like him anyway.

I hated him because he was an average player who thought the franchise needed to cater to him. Let's not forget, he questioned the Tigers acquisition of Pudge, because the catcher's job was his. At the time, he had over 900PA of .198/.249/.314 suckitude to his "credit".
