TSN: Fraley: Inside Dish: Rowand will inject life into Giants

It’s also a little known fact that Aaron Rowand invented the MAXO2+A Oxygen Analyzer in his spare time! Wadda guy!

In two seasons without center fielder Aaron Rowand, the Chicago White Sox are a .500 team and heading south.

Philadelphia is about to experience the same sinking sensation that overcomes a team that goes on without Rowand.

...The Phillies will also learn what the White Sox now know. Rowand is harder to replace in the clubhouse than on the field.

Rowand is an NFL free safety masquerading as a center fielder. He plays relentlessly, a style the Phillies privately feared may shorten his career, and that rubs off on teammates. He is a leader in the true sense of the word.

Well then imagine how much better the Phils will be if they sign Brian Dawkins.

It's just too bad "life" doesn't translate into "wins". Because while they very well may go 114-48 in the L-D (Life-Death) column, it would be a major upset if they managed to reach 68-94 in the W-L (Wins-Losses) column.

If I was laying odds on who wins more games this year, the Pirates or Giants, I'd put it at Pirates -2.

Really? That's the headline to use right after the Mitchell Report came out?

Brian Jordan says hi.

Does this mean Sam Raimi will be doing the 2008 Giants retrospective video?

RTG stole my joke.

lol, I loved this article. Multiple contradictions, leaps in logic, adherence to the unprovable... that makes for a great article, doesn't it?

So... Who's going to play third for the Giants?

I have no idea who's gonna play 1b, 3b or lf for the Giants. And that's just a-ok with me.

Btw, whatever happened to Armando Benitez? Is he still a free agent? Or has he signed with COL?

Oh great, so now he'll also shorten the careers of his teammates too by encouraging them to play that way.

Then again, given that the average age of a Giants player is 55, their careers are probably already mostly over anyway.

I assume the use of "inject" was intentional - a backslap at Bonds.

I believe Bonds never injected; he just creamed and cleared.

Sure he will. Just before the trade deadline.

I'll take the other obvious joke.

At a mere 30 years old, he's at least going to inject some youth into the Giants!

Rowand is officially the new Erstad, I take it.

Except you know, unlike Erstad, Rowand has actually benefited his own team on the field as recently as 2007...
